Classification of Wheat in Canada

●Canada Western Red Spring, with 13.5% protein content, is mainly used to make bread and pasta.
●Amber wheat, high in keratin, is used mainly to make macaroni.
●Canada Prairie wheat is used mainly to make noodles and steamed bread.
●The main planting season for wheat in Canada is in the spring, when 80% of all its wheat is planted.
●Of Canada’s spring wheat, nearly 80% is hard-red wheat followed by hard-amber wheat, with the rest soft-white wheat.
●Spring wheat is mainly planted in Alberta, Saskatchewan &  Manitoba.
